It starts of in present time but goes back and forth between Nicks recounter of all the events. I don’t think the book focused enough on the ‘message’.

I thought it was very well done how Flinn managed to have me invest myself in the reading and by the end I was really feeling for Nick. By high school, I’d made some friends and gotten involved in various “gifted and talented” performing arts programs. I would definetly recommend this book to every teen who isn’t aware of situations like the one presented in this book.


The story is Nicks journal about him and Caitlyn and his struggles. This book details his struggle to find himself in the mask of anger that has been controlling him for awhile now. You need to own up to them and take responsiblity. Set in Miami and told in a split narrative, the novel juxtaposes Nick’s journal entries about his past relationship with Caitlin alongside the current challenges of going back to school with his friends turned against him, his counseling sessions and life with his father.

Caitlin is everything Nick has ever wanted — beautiful, talented, and in love with him. The Search for TK. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was both intriguing and interesting. I try to catch his eye. It’s like reading a powerful monologue that doesn’t touch you, but shocks you.

It would have been time consuming yes but it also could have been interesting to see how Caitlin dealt with seeing Nick at school and everything. We would probably think he is an Breathing Underwater by Alex Finn is about a sixteen year old boy named Nicholas, also known as Nick.

It was a undwrwater I can relate too, mainly because I was in Caitlin’s position. I can see that she is trying to get the message out there that says you are in control of your own actions and feelings.

The thing is, Nick doesn’t see it that way, at least not at first. I may read it again because I want to know every detail of this book. That makes me furious as a young woman reading this book, but by the end of the book i feel sympathetic towards him because he realized what he did.
